Why is teeth whitening needed?
When discolouration develops, teeth whitening can help to restore a white smile – the results are immediate, effective and will last for a long period of time.
External teeth discolouration occurs as a result of poor personal dental hygiene, smoking, the consumption of coloured and acidic drinks, such as coffee, red wine, black tea, or soft drinks with artificial colourants, or the use of iron and chlorhexidine preparations due to some diseases and the use of antibiotics.
Internal teeth discolourations will develop when pigmented substances penetrate into hard dental tissues or when a tooth is dead. Some factors that lead to internal dental discolouration may also influence the development of tissues in non-erupted teeth. Such factors include inherited diseases, an excessive exposure to fluoride, or the use of tetracycline. This can also occur as a result of trauma, caries, amalgams, ageing and long-term smoking.
Is a teeth whitening procedure suitable for everyone?
These procedures are not recommended for patients with a thin enamel layer, or for patients that have very sensitive teeth, pregnant women and under-age individuals.
It is recommended to have your teeth fixed and cleaned before the teeth whitening procedure.
Teeth whitening procedures are not recommended for patients with severely worn teeth or with very sensitive teeth.
It should be noted that only the colour of natural teeth will change during a teeth whitening procedure, and the whitening will not affect fillings and crowns.

How can we help?
Teeth whitening procedures are carried out by applying carbamide peroxide. The same chemical substance is used in different concentrations for different whitening techniques.
Based on the evidence from many studies, the whitening of healthy teeth with carbamide peroxide causes no harm, while the dental structure and the adjacent tissues remain intact.
The modern specialist substance carbamide peroxide is used for teeth whitening procedures in our clinic (it commonly contains calcium that provides a preventive effect) and a special light source (a lamp or laser) is not required.
Just one procedure, which will last for about one hour, is enough to achieve a good result. However, if stains affect the dentine layer, more visits might be necessary for their complete removal.
What happens in the teeth whitening process?
The duration of the teeth whitening procedure is about 1 hour.
The gums are isolated by applying a protective layer of liquid rubber.
The tooth surface is covered with a whitening substance that is regularly renewed and is maintained for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Coloured food products and drinks should be avoided for two days after the procedure.

"My father went and had 2 crowns, a root canal & a filling and is happy with it. I am writing to compliment the receptionist - Vaida in her help in booking in multiple appointments, clarifying what work was done, as my father didn't have a clue, and helping with paying with the Travelex card. Very happy with the communication from Vaida, and I even had the dentist call me over Skype to clarify the work my father had done. Very happy with this company."
